Volunteers, we need you!

Volunteering opportunities with theatre works!

As our charity grows and the potential becomes clearer we need to add to our small enthusiastic volunteer group with the following part-time remote working roles.

With theatres facing increasing pressure on costs, and audiences yet to recover from pre-Covid times, our charity is providing a real lifeline, but we need to build awareness and connections with the people who are charged with meeting these challenges.

Theatre Development Volunteer (UK and US)

The role:
As we become established with more and more theatres, we require a volunteer to liaise with theatres to support their grant applications, and with our Grants Coordinator. We aim to support these partners in providing tickets and related educational activities to schools with the most socially and economically disadvantaged students.

We are presently working with around fifteen regional theatres across the UK, for example The Mayflower Theatre, Southampton; Bristol Old Vic; The Royal Exchange, Manchester: The Northern Stage, Newcastle; The Kings and Theatre Royal, Glasgow and Dundee Rep, and are regularly adding new theatre partners. We also partner with London Theatres such as Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, the Apollo Theatre (Wicked) and Lyceum Theatre (Lion King).

Time commitment:
The hours are flexible, we imagine the equivalent of half to a full day per week.

Fundraising Volunteer (UK and US)

The role:
To help us raise the level of donor giving to support our growing level of grants to schools and theatres. We need to develop programmes to reach both corporate and high net worth donors for whom bringing theatre and related educational experiences to disadvantaged children has appeal.

Time commitment:
The hours are flexible, we imagine the equivalent of half to a full day per week.
