Our Honorary Patrons

We are proud to have Sir Tom Stoppard and Sir Nicholas Hytner as two of our Honorary Patrons.

Sir Nicholas Hytner is an acclaimed theatre director as well as a film director and producer known for many shows such as The History Boys, The Lady in the Van, and Miss Saigon. He spent 13 years as the Artistic Director of London’s National Theatre (2003 - 2015) and currently is the Artistic Director of London’s Bridge Theatre. In 2010 He was knighted for this services in Drama and has won a variety of theatre and film awards including a Tony for The History Boys and Carousel and a BAFTA for best film, The Madness of King George

Sir Tom Stoppard wrote many award-winning plays, coining him as one of the most internationally recognised dramatists alive today. As a playwright and screenwriter through his years, his notable award-winning plays include Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead, Jumpers, Travesties & Arcadia and most recently Leopoldstadt. He also won an Academy Award for his Shakespeare in Love Screenplay.

Tom Stoppard holds one of the highest UK honours, the Order of Merit, given to only 24 living people. A play might be called ‘Stoppardian’ if it addresses philosophical issues through wit and comedy.

This is a huge step for theatre works! and we cannot thank both of these honorary patrons enough for lending their support to our organisation and helping us spread the word of theatre to younger generations.
